Who we are
Project ICON, LLC ("Project ICON," "we," "us," "our") produces and operates Speaker Island. These Terms govern your use of speakersisland.com and every page, form, funnel, email, text message and ad we run under the Speaker Island name (together, the "Site"). By using the Site, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the Site.
What Speaker Island is
Speaker Island is a paid, application-based program for founders, executives and professionals. Participants pay a fee to take part in a facilitated speaker intensive and a filmed storytelling session. Speaker Island is not employment, a free casting call, or a talent contract. We do not pay participants.
Submitting an application does not reserve a place. A seat exists once you have signed our Participant Agreement, we have received and cleared your full payment, and we have confirmed your seat in writing.
The Participant Agreement
Everyone who enrolls signs a separate Participant Agreement. That Agreement sets the fee, refund terms, filming rights, content ownership, distribution terms, cancellation and force majeure. If these Terms conflict with a signed Participant Agreement, the Participant Agreement wins. Nothing said on a call, in an email, in a deck or in an ad changes it.
Applications and casting
You must be 18 or older to apply. When you apply, you confirm that the information you give us is true and that you have the right to share it. Our team reviews each application and decides whom to invite. We make that decision at our discretion and we don't owe anyone a reason for it.
Pricing and payment
We list prices in US dollars. We can change a price at any time before you sign. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.
Where we offer financing, a third-party lender provides it. The lender decides approval, rate and term. We don't guarantee approval, and your financing agreement is between you and the lender.
Distribution statements
When we say a production is "produced for" or "submitted to" Amazon Prime Video, Roku, YouTube or any other platform, we are describing our intent and the status of our submission. We are not saying that any platform has accepted, licensed, scheduled or will air it. Each platform makes its own decisions and we don't control them.
This Site is not part of, sponsored by or endorsed by Amazon, Roku, Google, YouTube, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, X or any other platform. Their names and marks belong to their owners, and we use them for identification only.
No guarantee of results
Our case studies, stage bookings, press figures, testimonials and client stories describe what specific people achieved. Those results are not typical, and you should not expect to repeat them. Your outcome depends on your business, your market, your offer, your effort, your timing and factors nobody can predict.
We do not guarantee speaking invitations, stage bookings, podcast placements, media coverage, views, impressions, followers, clients, revenue or platform acceptance. Press distribution services report impressions as potential audience reach. An impression figure does not count people who read your release.
Not professional advice
We publish information on the Site for education. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment or medical advice, and it is not tailored to you. Talk to a qualified professional before you act on it. You carry responsibility for your own decisions and for following the laws and advertising rules that apply to your business.
Testimonials
The testimonials on the Site come from real participants and clients and describe their own experience. [If anyone received payment, a discount, free services or another benefit connected to a testimonial, state that here and beside the testimonial.]
AI-generated content
We use AI tools in our marketing. Some images, scenes, video and people in our ads and on the Site are AI-generated or AI-modified, including renders of venues and event moments. We use them to illustrate the experience. They may not show the actual venue, cast, crew or event.
Any person who appears in AI-generated material is synthetic unless we label them as a real individual. Synthetic people are not participants, clients or staff, and any words we give them are fictional.
We do not use AI to write or alter a testimonial that we present as a real person's experience. We do not use AI to recreate a real person's face, voice or likeness without that person's written consent.
Our intellectual property
Project ICON owns the Speaker Island name, the Project ICON name, the program format, curriculum, methodology, marks and all Site content. You may view the Site and share links to it. You may not copy, republish, sell or adapt our content, or use it to run a program, event or production of your own.
Acceptable use
When you use the Site, you agree not to submit false information, impersonate anyone, scrape or harvest data, collect information about other applicants, introduce malware, or interfere with the Site's operation.
Calls, texts and email
When you give us your phone number and tick the consent box on a form, you agree that Project ICON may call and text you about Speaker Island, including with automated messages. You don't have to consent in order to buy. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts and HELP for help. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.
Third-party services
The Site links to and relies on third-party tools, including scheduling, forms, payments and financing. Those providers run their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their services or content.
Disclaimer of warranties
We provide the Site "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful code.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Project ICON is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profit, revenue, business or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim about the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100). The Participant Agreement governs our liability for the program itself.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Project ICON and its members, officers, employees and contractors against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
Governing law and disputes
Florida law governs these Terms. Before either of us starts proceedings, we will both try to resolve the dispute through direct, good-faith discussion for thirty (30) days. The state and federal courts of [COUNTY] County, Florida hold exclusive jurisdiction. Each of us brings claims in an individual capacity only, and neither of us will bring or join a class action.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. If you keep using the Site after we post a change, you accept the updated Terms.
