Who we are and what this covers
Project ICON, LLC ("Project ICON," "we," "us") operates Speaker Island. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through speakersisland.com and every form, funnel, call, email, text message and ad we run under the Speaker Island name. The Participant Agreement governs footage and recordings made during the program.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email, phone number, location, business name, role, website, social profiles, revenue range, and your answers to application questions, including your story and your goals. If you enroll, we also collect your bio, headshot, wardrobe details and any dietary requirements, allergies or health information you choose to tell us for the event.
Payment information. Our payment processors and financing partners collect your card, bank or financing details. We receive a confirmation and the last digits of your card. We do not store full card or account numbers.
Information collected when you use the Site. Your IP address, device and browser type, pages you visit, time on page, referring link, and ad clicks, collected through cookies, pixels and similar tools.
Information from others. Advertising platforms tell us which ads you interacted with. Financing partners tell us whether an application was approved. Referral partners may pass us your details when you ask them to. We may review public professional information, such as your website or LinkedIn profile, to assess your application.
How we use it
We use personal information to review applications and run casting calls, contact you about Speaker Island by phone, text and email, process payments and financing, deliver the program, including travel guidance and dietary planning, produce and distribute program content under the Participant Agreement, measure and improve our ads and Site, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
How we share it
Service providers. We share information with companies that help us run Speaker Island: CRM and form tools, scheduling, email and text messaging, payment processing, financing, hosting, analytics, advertising, and production crew. They may use it only to provide services to us.
Other participants. Your name, business and the story you share during the program become known to the cast. Each participant signs confidentiality terms about other cast members.
Legal and business reasons. We disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
What we don't do. We don't sell personal information for money. We don't share your phone number or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and pixels from advertising platforms such as Meta and Google to show you Speaker Island ads and measure how they perform. Some privacy laws treat this as "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You can opt out through the [Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information] link, your browser's cookie settings, or each platform's ad preferences. We honor Global Privacy Control signals from browsers that send them.
Sensitive information
We collect health, allergy and dietary information only when you choose to give it to us, and we use it only to keep you safe and fed at the event. We share it with the venue and catering team who need it, and we delete it after the program ends.
How long we keep it
We keep application records for [24] months after your last contact with us, participant records for as long as the Participant Agreement and tax law require, and marketing data until you opt out or ask us to delete it. We delete or anonymize information we no longer need.
Security
We protect personal information with access controls, encrypted payment processing and trusted service providers. No system is fully secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and withdraw consent you gave us. Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, other US states with privacy laws, Canada, the UK and the EU hold some or all of these rights.
To make a request, email [EMAIL] with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity and respond within the time your local law allows. You may appoint an authorized agent to act for you. We won't treat you differently for exercising a right.
International users
Project ICON operates in the United States and stores information there. If you apply from another country, you understand that US law, which may give different protections from your home country, governs how we handle your information.
Children
Speaker Island is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. If we make a material change, we will post a notice on the Site or email you.
